Gum disease treatment
Healthy gums protect your teeth and bone. We help you keep them that way.
Periodontics covers the structures that support your teeth, including the gums (gingiva) and bone. The word periodontal means “around the tooth.” Healthy gums fit like a cuff around each tooth, and where the gum meets the tooth they form a small v-shaped crevice called a sulcus.
When gums are damaged by periodontal disease, they harbor and promote the growth of harmful bacteria and become harder to keep clean. Over time, damaged gums can lead to bone loss and tooth loss.
We work hard to explain why healthy gums matter, and we help you keep them healthy with twice-yearly cleanings of your teeth and gums.
